Hello peeps!

Trust we rested this weekend and are ready for the blessings this week has to in store for us. I was in church yesterday and the preaching of the day was to praise God for all He has done for us, all that we have asked for and haven’t received yet and for the extras He gives. Now that’s food for thought because most times we tend to focus on prayers that haven’t been answered yet rather than be thankful for already answered prayers. Praise in advance sef, God owes no man so if you praise Him for what He is yet to do, He will surely bless you so make this a thankful week.

When you wake up every morning of this week, thank Him for the sunrise, for the rain, for your family members (no matter how troublesome 🙂 ), thank Him for putting a roof over your head and for having enough food to eat so much so that it’s Clara’s Corner variety you are looking for, yeah thank Him for that. If you didn’t have your basic needs met you won’t be on the blog right now looking for something different 😀 , we have so much to be grateful for if we take out time to analyse things.

So, summer is upon us and kids are not smiling! Lol. Last week Friday I shared homemade hot chocolate recipe to help our pockets while kids are at home on holiday. Today’s recipe is also pocket saving and very easy to make. It’s no news that kids have to be kept busy with activities during the holiday, summer school, recreational activities and fun stuff which for them has to include snacks especially ice cream. I was once asked if I make my ice cream from scratch using eggs, milk etc and I asked why? Why should I when I can easily pick up packs of Domo ice cream and whipped cream powder?  I will definitely share an egg, milk ice cream someday soon but not today 🙂 .

Today we walk into a shop, pick up 3 items and stroll away! The idea is to have cheap and easy snacks ready at home without needing to go to an eatery for all the time especially for their all time favourite- ice cream! Last year, I shared chocolate chip ice-cream using same ingredients but different flavour, you can also check it out. This particular vanilla I find to be my favourite even though the strawberry I made recently is almost changing my mind.

Adding whipped cream to the ice cream make it rich and creamy so you don’t miss the fact that you don’t have an ice-cream machine. Folks living in Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, Kano and Ibadan will be able to make tjis ice cream because Shoprite stocks them on their shelves. Let’s hope one can get them from other stores otherwise I apologise to those who can’t 🙁 .

Ingredients : ( serves 4 )

2 sachets Domo vanilla ice-cream powder – Shoprite

1 pack Domo instant dairy whip powder – Shoprite

1 pack Hollandia milk

The packs have instructions behind them but here’s how I make mine.

Chill the milk and the bowl you will use to freeze the ice cream.

Use a mixer or very clean odourless blender, pour in 400ml cold milk and the Domo ice cream powder, whisk for 3 minutes.  Empty the whipped cream powder into 300ml of cold milk, stir a little then add to the ice cream mixture.  Continue whisking/blending for another 4 minutes.

Pour ice cream mix into cold bowl, freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight, suprise your kids! 🙂

Azu 🙂 .

Yummy, God bless you for sharing. I discovered that getting Domo whip cream is becoming difficult. Could you recommend another brand to use for icecream? Or better still, how to make it from the scratch. Thank you very much
