Happy midweek folks!
I’m really coming up with these greetings abi? Hope your week has gone well so far.
I’m sharing another super simple recipe, a milkshake this time. Hope we’ve had time to try out last week’s smoothie. This dabino (dates) milkshake is paired with almonds. I got to find out that almonds has alot of benefits including the ability to reduce the sugar level of any food it’s eaten with. This is because they reduce the glcemic index of the food which in turn means that the sugar and insulin levels in the body is significantly reduced after consuming a high sugar food such as dabino.
Other benefits include:
Almonds reduces bad cholesterol in the body.
A quarter cup of almonds is said to contain 62mg magnesium and 162mg potassium. Magnesium helps relax the veins and arteries which reduces the risk of a heart attack or a stroke. Potassium gives relief from strokes, heart and kidney disorders. It also eases anxiety and stress. Dabino also contains potassium which means that noth almonds and dates are a super breakfast food.
Now the recipe.
Ingredients : ( serves 2 )
2 cups almond milk
4 soft dabinos
Method :
Remove the dabino seeds, blend together.
Serve chilled!
Azu 🙂 .
**Notes: If almond milk isn’t available, use 2 cups of whole milk, 1/4 cup whole almonds and 4 soft dabinos.
If all you have are the dry dabinos, not to worry. Soak them for at least 4 hours or overnight and they are good to go.
